A recent report that we covered suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S26 may get a price hike, but not in the US. Well, things don’t seem to be set in stone just yet, as the company’s exec said something interesting in an interview.
The Galaxy S26 may not be able to avoid a price hike after all
Wonjin Lee, president and head of global marketing at Samsungsaid: “Prices are going up even as we speak. Obviously, we don’t want to convey that burden to the consumers, but we’re going to be at a point where we have to actually consider repricing our products.” He said this during an interview with Bloomberg.
While he did not specifically mention the Galaxy S26, we may end up seeing something unexpected. A December report from Korea said that Samsung was having problems reducing costs.
Price rises of key components, including semiconductors, definitely had something to do with that. Memory prices have gone through the roof as well, as Samsung’s DRAM division broke revenue records in Q4 2025.
Samsung is making its own memory, so that could help things
Samsung is making its own memory, however, so that could help them keep things at bay when it comes to pricing. It’s difficult to know what to believe at this point, but you can expect price hikes in general when it comes to Samsung products, based on what Wonjin Lee said.
Considering how he worded that statement, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll happen with the Galaxy S26 series. It remains to be seen, but as things stand now, many markets could end up offering a bit more expensive Galaxy S26 phones.
Speaking of which, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in February. February 25 has been tipped by several trusted sources, so we have no reason not to believe that. The Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+and Galaxy S26 Ultra are coming.
