The coalition has agreed on the next step to reduce fuel prices. According to information from the APA, the mineral oil tax will be slightly reduced, which corresponds to a demand from the ÖVP. In addition, margins along the value chain in fuel prices should be frozen, as the SPÖ has requested. The relief should amount to 10 cents per liter.

The measures should come into force by April. They will be limited until the end of the year. The exact details will be presented today after the Council of Ministers.
It is already clear that the package will be approved by the National Council next week. As the APA learned, a special meeting will be scheduled next Monday at which the changes to the law will be introduced. The formal decision will be made at one of the regular meetings on Wednesday or Thursday.
