Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier Campsite Gears Up for Promising Season

Optimism Abounds as Campsite Welcomes visitors

The municipal campsite in Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier is showing positive signs early in the season, according to Vincent Bonnisseau, the assistant in charge of tourism. Following its reopening on April 30th, the campsite is experiencing a surge in reservations, signaling a potentially strong year for local tourism.

Early Season Bookings and Diverse Clientele

Bonnisseau notes a important number of bookings for extended weekends throughout May. The campsite anticipates hosting youth groups from leisure centers in neighboring areas. Moreover, events like vintage motorcycle gatherings and performances by the 1488 association are proving to be significant draws, with attendees already securing their spots. The trend of Rennes residents seeking nearby green spaces, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to contribute to the campsiteS occupancy. International travelers, including those from Germany, the Netherlands, and England, are also gradually returning, adding to the diverse mix of visitors.

Aims to Rebound After Slight Dip

The campsite aims to surpass last year’s figures, which saw a slight decrease in both reservations and revenue. While the previous year was considered satisfactory, with 816 reservations generating €31,000, it fell short of pre-pandemic levels, which saw 916 reservations and €34,000 in revenue. The goal is to capitalize on the current momentum and exceed previous performance.

We hope to return to the level of previous years, after a slight decrease last year.

Tour de France Impact and Fishing Ban Concerns

While the upcoming Tour de France stage in liffré on July 12th hasn’t yet translated into a surge in bookings, Bonnisseau remains cautiously optimistic. He recalls that previous Tour de France events in the area didn’t have a significant impact on campsite occupancy. A more pressing concern is the ongoing fishing ban, implemented following a fish mortality event in the pond last summer. The ban has affected the number of anglers visiting the campsite, and its continued enforcement could impact revenue.

Visitor Data and Contact Details

The campsite reception is open daily from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM and from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. For information and reservations, contact the campsite at 07 88 21 35 29 or via email at camping@ville-staubindacormier.fr.
