French Tacos & Burgers | Restaurant – [City/Area]

BT writes that on Friday.

According to the newspaper, the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority was on an unannounced inspection at the restaurant in Olav Kyrres gate in March last year.

This is confirmed by section leader Jens Erik Romslo in the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority to BA.

Among the findings made by the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority was that two employees in January and February last year had received too little pay, had too little time off and had not received overtime pay.

In addition, the Norwegian Occupational Safety and Health Authority has pointed out a lack of information on the payment method for wages in the contracts, a lack of documentation on the length of breaks and a lack of information on the number of hours of overtime, according to BT.

– We take this type of violation of the Working Environment Act seriously, and that is also the reason why we issue orders, says Romslo to BA.

Complained about the decisions

The Norwegian Labor Inspectorate demanded that French Tacos & Burgers Avenue pay the employees, and has given the restaurant notice that they must pay if the orders are not followed.

– Regular wages and overtime pay are a fundamental right you have in working life. That is why we are taking this matter seriously, says Romslo to BA.

The owners of the restaurant have appealed against the decision, and the appeal has not been decided at the Directorate for the Norwegian Labor Inspectorate.

According to BT, the restaurant has been ordered to make improvements to all the breaking points. In six of the cases, notice was also given of a compulsory fine of NOK 1,000 per working day per order, if the orders were not followed up.

– After the inspection, we have cooperated with the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority, rectified conditions and improved our routines and contracts in line with the feedback we received, says CEO Chanez Choubane to BT.

Therefore, four of the six notices of compulsory fines were withdrawn. The other two are under appeal.

– It is not about a lack of will to make amends for us. We have been clear that if the final decision establishes that salary and overtime must be paid in arrears, we will of course comply with this, says Choubane to BT.

On Friday, BA did not get in touch with either the owner or the general manager of French Tacos & Burgers Avenue.
