The French photographer Antoni Lallican He has died this Friday in Ukraine in a drone attack while driving in a car in the company of another Ukrainian reporter, which has been seriously injured, as reported by the National Union of Journalists of France and the European and International Federations of journalists.
Both Lallican, 37, and the Ukrainian George Ivanchenko, 25, carried protection equipment and a bulletproof vest with the ‘press’ inscription when the vehicle in which they were in Donbás was reached by drones about 7.20 GMT hours, journalist unions have specified.
The death of the French reporter, born in 1988, has also been confirmed by the agency Hans Lucas, for which he worked.
Lalllican, who was awarded last February with the Victor Hugo 2024 Prize for Photography Committed to a report on the War in Ukraine, worked for various French media, including Le Monde, Le Figaro, La Croix, Mediapart and Liberion.
He also collaborated with numerous foreign media, such as the German newspaper Die Welt and the Swiss Le Temps.
