The 31-year-old from Albaching did not start at the second World Cup stop

The hopes of Franzi Preuß and Selina Grotian taking part in the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen this weekend (we reported) have been dashed. Both were still in the provisional squad yesterday, but on Wednesday it became clear that neither could start.

Franzi is infected with corona and is not fit – she is skipping the competitions in Austria that start on Friday, as is Selina Grotian. She also announced this afternoon that her illness also turned out to be a corona infection.

We will now hope for the World Cup in Le Grand-Bornand, France, next week from December 19th to 21st…
