France Pollen Levels – August 18th

by Archynetys Health Desk

Urticaceous dominates the pollen concentrations

The most marked concentrations concern Urticaceous (nettles, bettings), well established over a large northern and central half: the level of concentration reaches 4/5 In no less than eight regions, from Île-de-France to Center-Val de Loire. This species, although less publicized than grasses or birch, regularly causes respiratory and skin symptoms in allergies.

There is also a slight presence ofambrosia In three regions (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Center-Val de Loire). Although the concentrations remain low (level 1), the first grains are there, announcing a rise in power in the coming days, especially if hot weather persists locally.

Relative lull elsewhere

In the rest of the country, the majority of other pollens are now dormant or completely absent: grasses, oak, birch or cypress are at zero or negligible levels. An exception to note: a Slight resumption of grasses On Brittany and the Pays de la Loire (level 1), without notable impact expected as it is.

The advice of the day for allergies

Avoid outings in the great outdoors during the hottest hours (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), especially in regions north of the Loire

Air your accommodation early in the morning or after thunderstorms, closed windows during the day

Rinse your hair in the evening to eliminate accumulated pollens

If you are sensitive to the Ambroisie, watch this week’s bulletins: the seasonal peak is approaching
