The Amalgam Collection presents an absolutely accurate 1:4 scale replica of the twelve-cylinder engine and gearbox from the Ferrari 250 GTO, created in close collaboration with the Ferrari Classiche department. The new engine model costs 13,995 pounds (16,103 euros) and completes the Ultimate Ferrari 250 GTO Collection series, which includes models from 1:18 scale for 1,200 euros to a handmade aluminum body in 1:4 scale with a price of over 44,000 euros.

The true twelve-cylinder Ferrari 250 GTO is based on the Colombo V12 family with a displacement of 2,953 cm³, a single camshaft distribution on each cylinder head and a pair of valves per cylinder. In racing tuning, it reaches approximately 300 horses with a linear onset of power and a willingness to spin above 7,000 rpm.

Amalgam models are a collector’s item. Each specimen is produced in a limited series of 250 pieces and assembled by hand. During its development, original CAD documents, identical varnishes with codes from Ferrari and material specifications supplied by Ferrari Classiche were used. The finished model measures 32 centimeters in length and 17 centimeters in height. It took more than 3,500 hours to develop and approximately 325 hours to assemble one piece. It is assembled from thousands of precisely processed parts, including castings, photo-etched elements and components machined on CNC machines, which is reflected in technical excellence and design.

The brand reminds that the demand for Ferrari models keeps their value for a long time and on the secondary market they often exceed the original selling prices. The importance of the project is underlined by the words of company founder Sandy Copeman, according to whom the Ferrari 250 GTO is the “holy grail” of classic cars, and its twelve-cylinder, also known from other icons of the brand, represents a legend in itself.
