Felina Kft. from Szeghal, which has been generating losses of hundreds of millions in recent years, has not been paying its employees for some time, reports RTL Híradó. Some have been waiting for their wages for two months. According to an anonymous spokesperson, since December 10, they have only received promises every week.
Families where both work for the company are particularly sensitive to this. The majority have been on downtime for weeks, for which they are only entitled to basic pay, according to one employee, 200 out of 238 workers are like this.
According to the mayor, the owners of the company have changed continuously in recent times, but the municipality can only help the workers based on an individual assessment. The company had a loss of HUF 360 million in 2023 and HUF 610 million in 2024, and enforcement is underway against it. They wrote to RTL that they are solvent and that they will transfer the unpaid wages in the next few days. The Békés County Government Office initiated proceedings in the case.
