Teh FBI plans to release a video showing Jeffrey Epstein in his jail cell before his death, according to FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. The video aims to dispel conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein’s suicide in 2019.
Bongino stated that the video clearly shows that “He’s the only person in there and the only person coming out. You can see it.” He mentioned this in an interview on Fox & Friends.
Jeffrey Epstein, 66, was arrested in July 2019 and taken into federal custody on charges of sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors. The indictment detailed allegations that between 2002 and 2005, Epstein sexually abused dozens of underage girls at his properties in Manhattan, N.Y., Palm Beach, Fla., and other locations.
Epstein was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019, hanging by a bed sheet, after being taken off suicide watch. His death was ruled a suicide.
Bongino clarified that the video does not depict the “actual act” of Epstein killing himself. Rather, it intends to confirm that Epstein was alone in his cell before he was discovered dead.
The FBI is reportedly enhancing the video before its release to ensure clarity. “When you look at the video – and we will release it…,” bongino said, “you’re going to see there’s no one there but him. There’s just nobody there.”
