The Ministry of health and Population has announced that Egypt has made “remarkable progress in combating microorganisms” through various effective programs aimed at protecting food and supplementing vital elements.

One key initiative is the “salt” program, which provides iodine supplements and has nearly eliminated iodine deficiency. This program ensures that all table salt contains iodine, leading to “a noticeable improvement in cognitive capabilities and decrease The prevalence of thyroid gland.”

Furthermore, the Ministry has enhanced the feeding of children under five by providing vitamin A supplements in the form of food powder, starting at nine months of age.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that immunization and supplement efforts are integrated with large-scale food education campaigns across the country. These campaigns are delivered through the “family advice Program,” which involves direct communication with mothers via counseling rooms in all primary health care centers. These centers, now covering 100% of the country, are staffed by qualified and trained consultants who provide support and awareness starting from the pre-marriage stage.

The Ministry called for “the necessity of intensifying collective and sustainable efforts to achieve tangible results,” highlighting the importance of international cooperation platforms to build a legacy of integration and effective work. The ultimate goal is to ensure that “every child in Egypt and the world obtain equal opportunities in enjoying adequate nutrition and immunization against diseases.”
