The Chilean Air Force (FACh) issued a response to the information revealed by the Comptroller’s Office regarding officials who, being subject to legal prohibition, they would have placed bets in gambling casinos. The institution expressed that it observes these events with the utmost seriousness.
The institution maintained that any conduct that may contravene the law, administrative probity and the ethical standards required of public service is incompatible with the principles that should govern the actions of those who make up the institution.
In this context, the Chilean Air Force ordered the “immediate review of the antecedents that correspond to the institutional scope.” The objective of this measure is to determine possible administrative responsibilities.
The institution announced that it will adopt, if appropriate, the “disciplinary measures established by current regulations and regulations.” Likewise, he indicated that he will collaborate fully with the competent organizations.

The FACh’s statement comes after the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) reported that 910 officials with a legal ban on gambling, belonging to public services and municipalities, transacted more than $11 billion in casinos. Among the institutions highlighted in the report is the Chilean Air Force itself.
According to data from the controlling entity, the Transacted amounts linked to games of chance reached a total of $11,490,456,871 between January 2024 and June 2025. The current regulations, specifically article 10 letter b) of Law No. 19,995, establishes the prohibition for these officials to make any type of bet in casinos.
