A few days before the midweek shift on Wednesday, the championship of Excellence returns tomorrow, at 2.30 pm, with the eleventh day’s matches.
Santarcangelo-Massa Lombarda. The ‘Mazzola’ challenge is difficult to interpret. Massa Lombarda, which rose to 4th place with 18 points, -4 from the top, is the team of the moment, coming off 7 consecutive useful results. The Bianconeri do not hide their ambitions for a top championship. Santarcangelo, for their part, seemed to be stuck (3 points in the last 4 matches and 0 goals scored in the last 3) and have just slipped to 13th place, in the playout zone, with 10 points.
Pietracuta-Russi. With 3 consecutive home wins, the falchetti have found their dimension, settling in 8th place with 15 points. In the lair of the last of the class, the prediction would be closed, but Pietracuta, last with 6 points and a burden of 6 defeats out of 10, is at least confident, having returned from a 2-2 draw (they won 2-0 in Forlì against Cava Ronco, and collected the brace in the Cesarini area).
Sanpaimola-Osteria Grande. At the ‘Buscaroli’ in Conselice a match that is anything but predictable is taking place. The San Patrizio team, sucked into 9th place at 14 after 2 consecutive knockouts, is looking for lost luster, especially in defense. Eyes will have to be kept very open in front of the guests, capable, in the midweek round, of landing the surprise blow, i.e. the 1-0 scored against Mezzolara.
Faenza-Comacchiese. The privateering enterprise of Medicina has relaunched the Manfredi, who now aim to abandon the hot zone. Mister Cavina’s team – twelfth with 11 points – now has the aim of giving continuity to the results also at home, where they have won only once. Comacchiese, in 14th place with 9 points, boasts the worst attack in the group with just 5 goals.
Mesola-Solarolo. After having blocked Spal at 0-0 (even the hunchback could have escaped), Solarolo returns to the trenches with the aim of abandoning as soon as possible the last place in the standings at 6, shared with Pietracuta. The opportunity – also to erase the zero in the success column – is tempting, because Mesola boasts only one more point. The balance of the 8 direct clashes played so far is in perfect parity, with 3 victories on each side and 2 draws.
The top scorers: 6 Ndiaye (Fratta Terme); 5 Montesi (Sampierana), Stucchi (Cava Ronco); 4 Colli (Massa Lombarda) and Pelliconi (Sanpaimola).
On the other fields: Fratta Terme-Medicina, Mezzolara-Spal, Sant’Agostino-Cava Ronco Forlì, Sampierana-Castenaso.
