Kaya Callas, Vice-President of the European Commission (EC), said that the European Union (EU) Foreign Ministers had taken steps to register the matter. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been designated a terrorist organization.
The EU Council said it had decided to impose sanctions on 15 Iranian officials and six entities, bringing the EU’s sanctions to 247 individuals and 50 Iranian entities. Such measures include freezing assets. A ban on travel into the EU and a ban on the allocation of funds or economic resources to those on the list.
