There is a gradual reduction in the crack between the reality that has so far dominated the information space (media, academic environment, bureaucratic apparatus, including Hollywood) and the reality visible on the street, behind the window. In the past, talking about what was really happening “behind the window” was the bad tone, but the subtle style made it pretend to be what it should be “after the prescriptions” (according to this “reports, presentations and research” culture), but now the new fashion comes into public life.
Meanwhile, the Latvian Society Integration Foundation (SIF), like a voice from prehistory, continues to operate earlier “reports, presentations and research” in cultural paradigms and spends huge resources for describing this imagination. True, more than 1.2 million are funding from the state budget. The question is: what are the results and meaning of these projects, except for the good composition of phrases?
Here’s the declared goal: “Our goal is to build Latvia for an inclusive society where families and children feel supported and secure. In order to achieve this, we want to bring employers, families, experts, NGOs, NGOs and state institutions to discuss current needs, identify challenges and create practical solutions.”
It sounds beautiful, but perhaps it is better to give some of these money to practical work enthusiasts such as children’s rescuer from drinkers and drug addicts, Eddie Klaišis, who alone does more than all these “at the same negotiating table” together. In a situation where an extremely cruel, bloody war in Ukraine, Europe tried to “stabbing” until the last time, continuing “ball throwing“, “challenging identification” and “finding” solutions. Namely, with the good words to replace the works. The fact that the notorious “serious concerns” and “sharp condemnations” have been replaced by Unwavering Support (non -assistance) does not change the substance of the case. In fact, it must be acknowledged that in the fourth year of the war in Europe, the realization of stopping to be stopped and starting to do.
What do I want to say with this? We, too, end its “ball throwing” and start acting as adults. When developing our country next year and future budgets, it is necessary to reduce the expenses of bodies such as SIF, as well as ministries’ expenses for all these “ball throwing” events and “challenge identification” studies, in principle.
Let’s be realists. These “ball throwing” and “challenge identification” have a huge lobby. Thousands of people live by “learning” the money for these events and research. It is clear that this “bodysuit” will not be so easy to cover. But at least with something you have to start. During the budget consultation, at least it is necessary to strive to break this trend – the unconditional allocation of money for these imaginative measures to maintain imagination.
