Census: How do mandates voices recalculate?
In each election region, a different number of parliamentary mandates depends on how many voters have given a total of votes. To put it simply, the total number of valid votes is divided by two hundred mandates and the resulting number is divided by the population in each region. For example, in the previous elections, 23 mandates were divided in Prague, 26 mandates in the Central Bohemian Region, and only five parliamentary seats could be obtained in Karlovy Vary.
In the regions, the mandates are assigned to the sides according to the so -called electoral number. It is calculated by the fact that the total number of valid votes in the region is divided by the number of mandates increased by two. The subsequent number is then divided by voices for the parties. An example may look like this:
- In the hypothetical region, where 20 mandates would be distributed, voters gave 754 798 votes. The election number is therefore 34 309.
- The party and in this region received 239,709 votes. Thus, it will be six mandates (239 709/34 309).
- Party B received 198,582 votes, which corresponds to five mandates.
- For party C, it was 127,724 votes, ie three mandates and the party D received 188,783 votes, which corresponds to five mandates.
- In total, 19 mandates out of 20 were divided among the parties, each of them remaining voices.
These unoccupied mandates and unused voices are progressing into the so -called second scrutiny, which is this time nationwide and proceeds similarly. By dividing unused votes by increasing the remaining mandates this time only one of the number one sets the election number, which is divided by the remaining voices for each of the parties. If a mandate remains divided, the party with the highest rest of the votes is obtained.
