A new qualitative achievement that reflects its institutional leadership and excellence in adopting the concepts of foresight and future planning.

The accreditation certificate was handed over during an official meeting that brought together Dubai Customs leaders with representatives of the Global Institute for Innovation Management and SIA Partners, where Dr. Abdullah Busnad, Director General of Dubai Customs, received the accreditation certificate in appreciation of the institutional efforts made in establishing a culture of foresight and enhancing readiness for the future.

Proactive approach

The Director General of Dubai Customs stressed that the achievement reflects Dubai Customs’ commitment to enhancing its readiness for the future, and moving from a methodology of responding to challenges to a proactive approach based on long-term analysis and planning, which supports the sustainability of performance and consolidates the ability to keep pace with the rapid future transformations in the customs work environment and global supply chains. He pointed out that anticipating the future today constitutes a fundamental pillar of the government work system, and an effective tool to enable institutions to make more flexible and informed decisions, which contributes to enhancing Dubai’s competitiveness and global leadership.

Dr. Abdullah Busnad noted that the accreditation comes as a culmination of the Future Foresight Program launched by Dubai Customs, with the aim of building an integrated institutional system concerned with monitoring global trends, analyzing variables, and anticipating future scenarios related to the customs work sectors. The program included developing an integrated operational framework and methodology, and qualifying specialized national cadres within the team of “Future Foresight Ambassadors,” in addition to preparing future studies and scenarios in vital areas that included: trade facilitation, inspection and shipping operations, passenger operations, border security, and future logistics services.

Engineer Adel Al Suwaidi said: The achievement comes as confirmation of Dubai Customs’ position as a leading model in adopting the best global practices in anticipating the future, and a major supporter of the Dubai government’s directions in building a flexible government system capable of meeting requirements, creating opportunities, and enhancing readiness for the future in line with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

The meeting witnessed the presence of Rafael Lemaitre, Senior Partner at SIA Partners and member of the Board of Directors of the Global Institute for Innovation Management, and Carlos Guevara, Partner at the company, along with Abdul Rahman Mohammed, Senior Director at SIA Partners, while Dubai Customs was represented by Engineer Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of the Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department, and Khaled Al Zarouni, Head of the Future Foresight Team.
