The United States executed two men on Thursday. One of them died by a method that is classified by the UN as torture.

Two men have been executed again in the south of the United States. The 50-year-old Geoffrey West died on Thursday evening (local time) through the inhalation of nitrogen-a direction of execution that is equated with torture by the United Nations. He was executed in the state of Alabama because of the murder of a 33-year-old, which he had killed in a petrol station during a robbery.

A little later, the 35-year-old Blaine Milam was executed in the state of Texas by poison injection. He had been sentenced to death because, according to the court, he had killed her 13 -month -old daughter in an “exorcism” together with his girlfriend in 2008. MS lawyers had tried to avert his execution and argued that he was mentally hindered. His case was one of several that the German director Werner Herzog had treated in his documentary series “In the Death Tract” in 2013.

33 people have already been executed in the United States with the latest cases in the United States. US President Donald Trump is a clear supporter of the death penalty. On Thursday, he asked the country’s prosecutors to request the death penalty in processes – including in the capital Washington, where it was abolished in 1981. “If you kill someone when you kill a police officer, a representative of the security forces – death penalty,” commented the right -wing populist head of state when signing a corresponding memorandum.
