Mumbai, 27 January (HS). Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis formally unveiled the 2026 L&T Mumbai Open WTA 125K Series trophy on the occasion of Republic Day. This prestigious international women’s tennis tournament will be held from 02 to 08 February 2026 at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) complex in Mumbai.
In this function organized at the Chief Minister’s residence, tournament patron Amrita Fadnavis, senior L&T official S.V. Desai and Sumeet Chatterjee, MSLTA President Prashant Sutar, Chairman Bharat Ojha and many distinguished guests were present. Apart from this, rising Indian tennis player and World University Games bronze medalist Vaishnavi Adkar and Indian Fed Cup coach Radhika Tulpule-Kanitkar also participated in the program.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the fifth edition of Mumbai Open is a matter of pride for Maharashtra and the country. He expressed hope that this time also Indian players will perform brilliantly and prove their talent on the international stage.
MSLTA President Prashant Sutar said that L&T Mumbai Open has now become one of the most important women’s tennis tournaments in the country and the event is playing an important role in the development of tennis in the state.
