COPENHAGEN – Amid escalating concerns over potential threats from Russia, Denmark is set to deploy floating drones in the Baltic Sea. The Danish Armed Forces are deploying four Saildrones in the Baltic Sea for operational testing, aiming to improve their maritime surveillance and intelligence gathering capabilities.

Saildrones operate using a combination of diesel, wind, and solar energy, enabling them to remain at sea for extended periods, with an average deployment time of 100 days. Covering the entire Baltic Sea effectively woudl require an estimated 10-20 Saildrones.
