Demba Ngom & Abdou Aziz Kane: Released From Detention

by Archynetys Health Desk

Demba Ngom and Abdou Aziz Kane left prison after the decision rendered by the Financial Indictment Chamber, which rejected any appeal against their release. The two men, respectively brother of Farba Ngom and close collaborator of the latter, thus returned to the open air without an appeal being lodged by the prosecution, reports the Journal Libération du jour.

Indicted in the so-called Farba Ngom affair, Demba Ngom and Abdou Aziz Kane had been placed under arrest warrant by the judge of the leading financial firm for complicity in fraud and money laundering, involving an amount estimated at 31 billion CFA francs.

According to information relayed by our colleagues at Libération, the Financial Indictment Chamber made its decision at the beginning of the week, putting an end to their preventive detention. However, their release was carried out under the electronic bracelet regime, a measure of judicial control intended to guarantee their availability for the rest of the procedure.

The decision was received with attention by their loved ones, who remained waiting to know whether the prosecution would file an appeal. In the absence of appeal, the release measure became effective.
