Moto2 ace David Alonso ended the year 2025 in a special way. The Colombian took part in an off-road endurance race in Guadalajara, Spain, around 50 km northeast of Madrid.
According to the organizers, 500 enduro fans came together for the traditional “San Silvestre Endurera” this time to compete against each other in teams of two, with fun being the main focus. The 4-hour race took place on a 9 km long circuit. World-class pilots from various off-road disciplines shared the route with amateur drivers.
Aspar driver Alonso chose motocross professional Samuel Nilsson as his partner. The two took turns in the race and came second in the final rankings. “If four hours of racing isn’t enough for you, then you really enjoyed it. Thank you for letting us end the year with a lot of fun,” Alonso posted on his Instagram account.
The idea behind the San Silvestre Endurera is to end the year in a fun way with a big festival and to celebrate the sport of motocross. The endurance race also served Alonso as preparation for the 2026 Moto2 season. In his rookie season in 2025, the 19-year-old, who lives in Madrid, won a race. In total, he made it onto the podium five times – three times in the last four races of the season. The 2024 Moto3 World Champion finished 9th in the overall standings.
