Dasco Pickup Import Delay: Agrinas Responds | India-Indonesia Trade

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, stated that he was ready to postpone the purchase of 105,000 pickups from India for the operations of the Red and White Cooperative and Subdistrict (Kopdes).

Joao made this statement after Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, spoke and asked for the import of 105,000 pickups from India to be postponed.

“We follow obedient just. Whatever the decision,” said Joao when contacted, Monday (23/2/2026).

Joao said that his party only works for the community.

Meanwhile, PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara is a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) appointed to work on the construction of 80,000 units of Kopdes Merah Putih outlets and warehouses.

“The important thing is that we work for the country and society,” said Joao.

Meanwhile, Agrinas has signed a contract to purchase 105,000 pickups from two Indian manufacturers, namely Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Ltd and Tata Motors, worth IDR 24.66 trillion.

The details are 35,000 4×4 pickups from Mahindra, 35,000 4×4 pickups and 35,000 six-wheeled trucks from Tata Motors.

Before stating that he was ready to postpone the purchase of Indian pickups, Joao said that 200 pickups had arrived from Mahindra and had arrived in Indonesia.

The next stage of delivery will be carried out with 400 pickup units.

“By the end of this month (the target) will be 1,000 units. This year we will try to get all 35,000, Mahindra,” said Joao when met Kompas.com at his office, Jakarta, quoted Monday (23/2/2026).

Joao said that the Indian manufacturer’s pickup order was equipped with maintenance facilities.

According to him, this vehicle will be used for years to come so it is certain that Indian manufacturers will consistently meet these needs.

“Buying and selling cars is not like a drink, one drink, you’re done. He will use this for 20-30 years to 50 years,” said Joao.
