Maryland Sports Association Secures Funding for Dallas American Games

the Maryland Sports Association is actively supporting it’s athletes as they prepare to compete in the upcoming Dallas American Games. these games, a meaningful event for Korean sportsmen nationwide, are scheduled to take place in dallas, Texas, over three days, from June 20th to 22nd.

Maryland will be represented by athletes and officials across nine different sports, showcasing a diverse range of talent.These sports include:

• Swimming

This broad participation highlights Maryland’s commitment to supporting a wide spectrum of athletic disciplines.

Financial Support and Fundraising Efforts

Recognizing the financial demands of participating in the American Games, the Maryland Sports Association is actively engaged in fundraising activities.A significant contribution of $5,000 was presented to Chairman Oh Se-baek by key figures including the Maryland Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Choi Chul-ho, head of the Maryland Squad.

Chairman Oh Se-baek estimates that a budget of at least $50,000 to $60,000 is necessary to adequately support the team’s participation. To bridge this gap, the Sports Association is organizing a fundraising golf tournament at the Musket Ridge Golf Club in Maiersville on Sunday, April 18th. This event aims to gather crucial funds to cover expenses such as travel, accomodation, and equipment.

Logistical Preparations Underway

In addition to fundraising, the Maryland Sports Association is diligently handling the logistical aspects of the trip. Chairman Oh Se-baek recently visited dallas to inspect the competition venues and the opening ceremony gymnasium. After careful consideration of accessibility, the team will be accommodated at the Holiday Inn Express in Lewisville.

The American American Sports Festival is a place to improve solidarity by enhancing the harmony and exchange of Korean sportsmen nationwide.

The deadline for team registration is May 18th. The Maryland Squadron aims to finalize its roster by May 20th and promptly submit the list to the organizers. Athletes interested in representing Maryland are encouraged to contact the Maryland Sports Association quickly.

Consulate General’s Support

The Consulate General in Washington has demonstrated its support for the Maryland Sports Association by hosting a gathering for executives and officials from the association and its affiliated groups at the Dae Jang Geum restaurant in ellicott City.This event served as an chance to foster camaraderie and collaboration in preparation for the Dallas American Games.
