Cuautepec Nutrition: Supporting Children’s Health

Various primary schools in Cuautepec de Hinojosa were benefited with furniture and supplies for the strengthening of their feeding spaces and for the operation of the School Food Program in its hot modality, in direct support to more than 1,200 students and students, thanks to the management carried out by the president of the Municipal System DIF Cuautepec, Krystal Butron, before the State DIF.

The “Christopher Columb” primary school, located in the community of Santa Elena Paliseca, was benefited as part of the kitchens that are part of the 16 feed spaces that the municipality has, receiving a stationary tank, blender, stainless steel pressure pot, refrigerator, gas stove, pudding, pots, kitchen utensils and inputs of the basic basket Improvement of care for more than 400 students.

Similarly, five primary schools in the municipality took a transcendental step by first joining the hot breakfast scheme, some of them making the transition from cold breakfast and others as new additions.

The beneficiary institutions were “Nicolás Bravo” of El Aserradero, “Prof. Eliseo Bandala Fernández” of the municipal seat, “Ernesto Viveros” of El Ennel, Lázaro Cárdenas de Tezoncualpan and “Lic. Benito Juárez” de Tepantitla.

These schools received furniture consisting of 120 -liter stationary tank with regulator and valve, high -performance chrome blender, stainless steel pressure pot, 10 feet refrigerator and four grills gas stove, among other items that will guarantee an efficient and safe service for 814 students.

It should be noted that this is the first time that the municipality of Cuautepec achieves the incorporation of schools into the hot breakfast program, which represents a historical advance in school food, since it is an effort aimed at improving the nutrition of girls and boys.

The determination of the support was based on the registration and needs of each campus, with the purpose of providing decent and equipped spaces that strengthen the integral development of Cuautequense childhood.

“From Cuautepec de Hinojosa we appreciate the support of President Edda Vite and Governor Julio Menchaca to families with these actions that had never arrived before. Without a doubt, a correct nutrition will make the difference in the healthy growth of our girls and boys,” said the president of the municipal DIF, Krystal Butrón.
