Argentine defender Facundo Rodríguez signed a new contract with Estudiantes until 2028 after his current contract expired at the end of 2027 and arrives in Sofia on loan with CSKA, reports 0221.com.ar.
Rodriguez must specify the final details of his contracts with the “reds” and stay in Sofia on loan for 18 months, and the agreement also includes an option to buy him out from the Argentinian club. It will eventually be at a higher price because of the central defender’s new contract with his current club.
Facundo Rodríguez transferred to Estudiantes in 2024 for $1,200,000. This year, he has only played 73 minutes for his team in a 4-0 win over lowly Itusaingo in the Argentine Cup.
In 2025, Rodriguez has 41 matches for Estudiantes. His departure was made possible by the signing of Tomas Palacios, making him fourth choice in the center of defense behind the new signing, as well as starters Leandro Gonzalez Pires and Santiago Nunez.
