The sports manager Nikolay Zheinov stated that the financial means available to CSKA and Ludogorets is above the European average.
“The clubs – Ludogorets and CSKA – are starting to be active. I hope they will make good purchases to build on what they showed in the first half of the season. To my regret, there is not a single Bulgarian name. Maybe at the meeting tomorrow one should be asked, one Bulgarian name…”, began Zheinov in his interview for the “Sports Show” on “Darik Radio”.
“The bad thing is that in the last 4-5 years, the level of Bulgarian football has drastically dropped, not to say it’s catastrophic. The level of the national team, the level of the club teams, the level has dropped drastically,” he added.
“Football players from the third-fourth division come to Bulgaria and perform very well. This does not speak well for Bulgarian football.”
“I can bet that 70% of transfers with Bulgarian clubs will be foreigners, which is not good for Bulgarian football.”
“The financial means available to CSKA and Ludogorets are above the average for Europe. These teams should dominate in Bulgaria. I am not putting Levski here, because Levski does not have that comfort,” Zheinov continued.
“Levski’s seven-point lead over second says they are working very well at Levski, but Levski doesn’t make transfers, which means they are financially disciplined.”
“There is always interest in a certain small circle of Bulgarian footballers, but there must be an adequate price from the Bulgarian club.”
“I think that Bulgarian footballers have become much more expensive and are quite overrated.
In Slovakia or Cyprus, salaries are between 3, 4 and 5 thousand euros, and in Bulgaria there are quite a few footballers who receive more than these amounts.”
“Kevin Dodai certainly has qualities, but he cannot fit in and in no way fits into CSKA’s scheme. A wrong addition. No club is immune to mistakes, but mistakes should not be made in such positions.”
“The Black Sea has been a factor in the championship for several years in a row. We see that with a smaller budget, things are happening. The management in the Black Sea is clearly very good. It’s a matter of organization and expectations.”
“It’s good that there is a fight for the first place in the championship. It’s not good for a championship when the champion becomes clear before the playoffs or has a 15-point lead.”
“Who should fix the stadiums? How can we tell the state to fix our stadiums?” asked Zheinov at the end of the conversation.
