2026 World Cup potentially being the last to Cristiano Ronaldo. CR7 was asked to play longer.
In the United States, Canada and Mexico, the 2026 World Cup is being held. Portugal is one of the teams that has qualified for the world football festival.
Ronaldo is currently 40 years old. When the 2026 World Cup takes place, he will be 41 years old so that event will be his last.

But, in 2030, Portugal will hold several World Cup matches. In the 100th anniversary edition of the World Cup, the event will be held on three continents. Morocco, Portugal and Spain are the main hosts.
Therefore, former Portuguese player, Nuno Gomes, also hopes that Ronaldo can play a little longer so we can say goodbye to our home turf.
“Of course, I think it also depends on the coach. At the moment, we have Roberto Martinez and I think he adapts well to the team, having him in the first 11 players or not,” said Nuno Gomes on Sportskeeda.
“So, I think it will depend on his will, to play more or not. But, maybe I can say that this will be his last World Cup. Although we know that in four years, we host several matches. And maybe it could be an opportunity to say goodbye at home,” he added.
Together with Portugal, Ronaldo already played 226 times. He contributed 143 goals.
