Emil Heineman scored his 10e goal of the season in a shootout loss to the New York Islanders on Friday, but he got quite a boost from the courageous and crafty Kyle Palmieri.
In the second period of this duel against the Philadelphia Flyers, the veteran twisted his ankle while applying a check to Jamie Drysdale. Palmieri needed several seconds to get up and painfully return to the bench.

With his goal, Heineman equaled his total from last season with the Montreal Canadiens, but in 37 fewer games. The Swede is doing very well in 2025-2026 with 16 points in 25 games.
The Flyers ultimately won 4-3, holding off a three-goal surge from the “Isles.” Matthew Schaefer stood out in the losing cause with a goal and an assist.
