Former Men and Women star Costantino Vitagliano recently shared details about his ongoing battle with a rare autoimmune disease. Appearing on Very true, Vitagliano discussed the experimental treatments he is undergoing and the important impact they have had on his life.

Autoimmune diseases, which affect an estimated 24 million Americans according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), occur when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own tissues. Vitagliano’s specific condition is so rare that doctors are still working to understand and manage it effectively.

While the cortisone has been discontinued,its effects,such as mood swings and acne,were significant.

Despite these difficulties, Vitagliano remains optimistic. He emphasized his efforts to regain normalcy and engage in activities he previously enjoyed.

Finding Love and Support Amidst Health Challenges

Amidst his health struggles, Vitagliano has found love and support in his new partner, Daphne. He praised her patience and sweetness, acknowledging the challenges his condition presents in their relationship. The couple has been together for approximately three months.

A Father’s Love: Prioritizing Family

Vitagliano’s daughter, Ayla, remains his top priority. He expressed his deep love for her and his determination to spend quality time together, especially after realizing the severity of his illness. He actively participates in her life, including attending her volleyball games and engaging in playful activities, such as letting her do his makeup.
