Corithians confirmed that midfielder José Martínez returned to the club this Saturday morning, at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. The Venezuelan had been in his home country since last year to renew his passport, but was unable to return after the United States attack and the capture of the president of Venezuela.
What happened
Martínez managed to renew his passport only yesterday. He went to Venezuela after the Copa do Brasil title won in December, but was unable to leave the country. As soon as he got the document, the steering wheel traveled back to Brazil.
The midfielder claimed that the political problems caused by the US attack and the capture of Nicolás Maduro delayed the process. Savarino, currently at Fluminense, was another Venezuelan player who had his return to Brazil postponed.
