Mojang Studios officially confirmed what many fans had been waiting for years. And during the Minecraft Live March 2026the developer announced Minecraft Dungeons IIthe direct sequel to the successful action RPG launched in 2020, with a release scheduled for end of 2026 in PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 y Xbox Series X|S.
The game is now available to add to wishlists at Steam and other digital stores, although it still does not have an exact launch date. The announcement comes after months of leaks and rumors. In May 2025, a series of data extracted from the original game code anticipated the existence of the sequel with several new biomes, including Honeycomb Fields, Desert y Forest as possible playable areas.

Minecraft Dungeons II will arrive at Xbox Game Pass from day one and will have support for Xbox Play Anywherewhich means that a single purchase will give access on both Xbox and PC.
For users of Nintendo Switch 2the game will take advantage of the technical capabilities of the new console. The version of Nintendo Switch original will also be available, ensuring that no player on the platform is excluded from the launch.
The first Minecraft Dungeons was very well received upon release in May 2020, with a score of 7/10 on IGNand ended up amassing millions of players throughout its years of support with free expansions and updates.
