Star march and rally for democracy and human dignity: A broad civil society alliance is calling for a star march against racism and for democracy in Cologne on Saturday, March 21st. Starting points are Ottoplatz at 1 p.m. and Chlodwigplatz and Ebertplatz at 1:30 p.m. The goal is the central rally (starting at 3 p.m.) on Friesenplatz or Rudolfplatz.
The occasion is the International Day Against Racism, which draws attention worldwide to discrimination and right-wing agitation. The joint appeal states that the AfD and other right-wing extremist parties are a threat to democratic institutions, freedom of art and expression, and social cohesion. What is required is a clear commitment to human rights, international law and solidarity and diverse coexistence. The “Cologne stands across” alliance invites you to participate.
