In the state of Chihuahua, more than 130 thousand people have been vaccinated against measles, as part of the massive inoculation campaign carried out by the State Government, to counteract the outbreak of this condition, Governor Maru Campos reported.
Only this week 18 thousand more doses will be applied to inhabitants of less than 39 years of age, based on the municipalities of Cuauhtémoc, Cusihuiriachi and Riva Palacio.
“If you don’t remember if you have the vaccine, don’t worry, we can also get vaccinated,” said the state president on her social networks.
He added that in a working meeting with the Undersecretary of Health and Population Welfare Policies of the Government of Mexico, Ramiro López Elizalde, he managed 100,000 additional vaccines and expect another 235 thousand in the coming weeks.
During the meeting, in which the Secretary of Health of the State, Gilberto Baeza and the person in charge of the Undersecretariat of Prevention and Health Promotion, Leticia Ruiz González, were also participated, the advances achieved in the care of this disease were presented. The director of the National Health Center for Children and Adolescents of the Ministry of Health, Daniel Aceves, on behalf of the Secretary of Health David Kershenobich, acknowledged the leadership of the head of the Executive for the actions carried out in this issue.
He also highlighted the action that was taken within the framework of the National Vaccination Week 2025, since the entity reached 250 percent of the established goal, with the application of more than 244 thousand vaccines, which are incorporated into the 14 biologicals of the Universal Vaccination Program.
He said that the measles outbreak has required a unified participation of the three levels of government and in those terms, the Government of the Republic, the State Government and the municipalities, carry out a coordinated work with international links, with the public and private sector, in order to contain cases.
