Chicago Bulls Lead Eastern Conference: 3-0 Start!

by Archynetys News Desk

The Chicago Bulls are leaders of the Eastern Conference. No, it’s not a joke. Update the ranking, take a screenshot if you feel like it, there is no mistake, the Chicago Bulls are leaders of the Eastern Conference. So sure, it probably won’t last, but after three games and three wins, the Chicago Bulls are leaders of the Eastern Conference.

The end of last season was a good foundation on which to build for Billy Donovan’s men. Thanks to fast play and young players on the rise, the Chicago Bulls had become, as of March, one of the most enjoyable teams to watch in the NBA.

The start of regular 2025-26 is in the same vein. In addition to maintaining one of the best paces in the League (6th), the Illinois franchise can rely on the best defense in the League and a collective… collective and it pays off. After three games and three wins against good teams (Pistons, Magic and Hawks), they are first in the Eastern Conference, tied with the Philadelphia Sixers.

What is notable about the Bulls’ start to the season is the sharing of points and responsibilities. In the absence of Coby White (injured for about another week), everyone touches the ball and the assists come one after the other as quickly as the baskets (second in the NBA in assist percentage). Six players scored more than 10 points against the Pistons, seven against the Magic and eight last night against the Hawks. Aside from Nikola Vucevic against Detroit (28), no one has passed the 21 unit mark.

The leader of the collective, however, remains Josh Giddey. The Australian establishes himself as a playmaker in his purest form. He highlights his teammates, without forgetting himself and is truly turning a corner since the start of 2025. Over the first three games of this 2025-26 financial year, he is averaging 19.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists at 41.7% from distance.

Shoutout to Josh Giddey for his shooting development, man

He’s improved every year, even after leaving OKC

He’s gone from 26% ➡️ 32.5% ➡️ 33.7% ➡️ 37.8% in his previous 4 years

So far, this year, he’s 5/12 from 3 (41.6%), with none bigger than this one pic.twitter.com/kURwkmQQkI

Nikola Vucevic is the reference in the racket and keeps up the cards, Matas Buzelis shows his progress – especially in his off-ball game – Tyus Jones and Kevin Huerter enjoy Billy Donovan’s system, Ayo Dosunmu wants to slip into the race for the 6th man of the year and even Patrick Williams is aggressive (yes, yes, I promise). What more could you ask for in Chicago?

So sure, the sample is way too short to draw any conclusions and the upcoming schedule is absolutely terrible for Chicago (Knicks x2, Sixers, Bucks, Cavs, Spurs, Pistons and Nuggets in the next 10 games), but with what fans have experienced the last 10 years, they have earned the right to enjoy the upswings.
