Day 1 of PlanetaMini 2026
TECHNICAL AREA – PLANETAMINI
The Mini Women’s Team of Castilla y León could not have had a better debut at PlanetaMini 2026, signing a total of victories on the first day of the championship that is being held between Reus and Salou.
The debut came at the Joan Rebull Márquez Sports Center, where the regional team showed a high level of play from the start to beat La Rioja with authority 35-72. A very complete first match that left great sensations both in defense and attack, marking the way forward in the tournament. In the afternoon, in the Reus Olympic Pavilion, they once again demonstrated their superiority, this time against the Region of Murcia. The match ended with a clear 58-7, closing in the third quarter after reaching the difference of 50 points.
With these two victories, the Mini Women’s Team mathematically achieves qualification for the quarterfinals, in the absence of playing the last match of the group stage. Tomorrow’s duel against the Valencian Community will be decisive to determine whether the regional team enters as first or second in group B.
For its part, the Mini Men’s Team has not yet debuted in the competition. The team has taken advantage of the day to complete training sessions and finalize details for its debut, which will take place tomorrow with a double date against Asturias and Aragón.
PlanetaMini 2026 could not have started better for Castilla y León, with a women’s team that is already exciting and a men’s team ready to enter the scene.
