[마이데일리 = 대전 이정원 기자] “Overall, the players’ bodies were heavy.”
KEPCO, led by coach Kwon Young-min, lost with a set score of 2-3 (25-27, 25-19, 25-18, 23-25, 12-15) against Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance in the 4th round of the Jin Air 2025-2026 V-League Men’s Division at the Daejeon Chungmu Gymnasium on the 10th, failing to win three games in a row.
KEPCO (34 points, 12 wins, 9 losses), which only added one point, was tied with KB Insurance (34 points, 11 wins, 10 losses), but moved up to third place due to multiple wins. There is a 7-point difference with 1st place Korean Air (41 points, 14 wins, 6 losses).
Ace Sharon Benon Evans (registered name Benon) scored 37 points, the most for both teams, but had 10 errors. Other players also contributed, including Kim Jeong-ho with 16 points, Musawel Khan (registered name: Musawell) with 15 points, and Shin Young-seok with 13 points. We had the upper hand with team serving 9-6 and team blocking 9-6, but we couldn’t smile.

After the game, coach Kwon Young-min said, “Overall, the players’ bodies were heavy. There were some things they couldn’t receive, but their bodies were heavy. Another opportunity came, but they couldn’t take it. It was noticeable that their overall stamina had decreased. I will prepare well for the next game.”
Although I succeeded in regaining third place, I couldn’t just smile.
Coach Kwon Young-min raised his voice, saying, “There was a clear opportunity to win three points. The players need to focus more.”
Including today’s game, they have lost one set in the last three games in a row. What is the reason?

Coach Kwon said, “There is no particular reason. It seems like the opponent is going through ups and downs as he shakes his serve. He is overcoming it well. Today, the Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance players played without reproach. Michil Ahi (registered name Ahi) also had good serve and attack. Also, I think he won by defending more tenaciously than our players.”
KEPCO will play against Woori Card at home on the 15th.
