Broomfield Grass Fire: Evacuations Lifted – Latest Updates

Firefighters have gained control of a small grass fire that broke out in a park near 144th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard in Broomfield, prompting evacuation warnings.

The city lifted the evacuation warning that was issued for the Wildgrass neighborhood area east of Sheridan, according to a 3:35 p.m. update to the city’s website. Eagle River Run is the southern border and Silver Leaf Drive is the northern border, according to the city.

Lowell Boulevard, which was closed between 144th and 152nd avenues while fire crews extinguished hot spots, had reopened as of 4:20 p.m., according to a Broomfield police X post.

The fire, which sparked in Broomfield’s Remote Control Airfield Park, was under control as of 3:35 p.m., according to Katie Converse, a spokesperson for North Metro Fire Rescue.

Converse did not yet have information on the size or cause of the fire.
