Habibur Masum Admits Manslaughter in Kulsuma Akter Stabbing, Denies Murder

A 26-year-old man, Habibur Masum, has confessed to the killing of his wife, 27-year-old Kulsuma Akter, in Bradford. The incident occurred as she was pushing their baby in a pram through the city center on April 6 of the previous year. The baby was reported unharmed.

At Bradford Crown court, Habibur Masum, residing from Leamington Avenue, Burnley, admitted to manslaughter and possession of a bladed article. Though, he has denied the charge of murder.

following the court session, Mr. Justice Cotter ordered Masum to remain in custody as he awaits trial for murder, scheduled to begin on Monday.

Additional Charges and Allegations

“When she moved to the United Kingdom I was alone, but Kulsuma would call me every day by video. The only day I didn’t hear from her was the day she was attacked.”

Masum is also facing two counts of assault, one count of making threats to kill, and one charge of stalking.These allegations stem from incidents that reportedly occurred over two days in November 2023.

The stalking charge accuses Masum of tracking Ms. Akter between November and April.He allegedly “tracked her movements and located her at a safe house, sent her messages of a menacing nature which contained threats to kill another and photos and videos of the area
