After the fatal crash of an artist during a circus performance in Bautzen, the investigators are now concentrating on the cause. On Monday, the public prosecutor, the trade office and professional association got an overview of the scene of the accident, as a police spokesman said on request. All devices such as the trapeze and the associated ropes have been ensured.
It can still be assumed that it was a tragic accident, indications of third -party fault or there is no criminal offense, the police spokesman emphasized. However, the investigation by the forensic technicians and the evaluation of the witness interrogations are still available. In addition, the autopsy of the body was arranged.
Artist probably fell on the head from five meters directly
The 27 -year -old Spaniard fell from the trapeze on Saturday afternoon during the family performance from about five meters and died at the scene of the accident. Almost 100 people had sat in the performance, including many families with children.
The artist had hung upside down on the trapeze when she suddenly crashed, as the police spokesman explained. She probably fell on her head directly. An obstacle or another person would not have been in the ring during the demonstration.
Eyeeine: There was so much blood
An eyewitness reported that it quickly became clear that the artist could not be helped after the fall. “There was so much blood and also a serious injury to the temple,” said a nurse who had visited the performance with her granddaughter. She said to the six -year -old that she should stay on her place and look in the other direction.
A crisis intervention team had taken care of the circus employees and visitors who had followed the dramatic accident at the weekend. The corresponding hotline was “hot,” said the police spokesman.
About 40 people cared for by crisis intervention team
According to the district office, around 40 people had used the offer of psychosocial emergency care at the weekend. The team supports those affected in the acute phase in the processing of traumatic experiences, as a spokeswoman said. The aim is to emotionally stabilize the affected people to agree on the social environment – especially the relatives – and show further offers of help. Long -term mental damage such as post -traumatic stress disorders should be avoided.
The nurse also looked for a conversation with the crisis intervention team with her granddaughter after the accident. She had already seen a lot in her job, also dead, but she took this sight very much, she said. Afterwards she talked to her granddaughter about the beautiful things that day: «About the animals and something like that. She rode on a camel. We’ll see how it works. ”
