From June 2023, the new General Telecommunications Law in Spain (Law 11/2022) prohibits companies from making commercial calls without the user’s prior consent. This means that companies can no longer freely call you to offer you products or services if you have not given your express authorization. Otherwise, they may face sanctions for violating consumer protection regulations.
However, calls from spam they remain one of the main annoyances for people in Spain. Commercial offers, surveys, false promotions or even fraud attempts are becoming more frequent, and in many cases they come from hidden or international numbers.
But all is not lost: Users have functions and settings on our phones that allow us to filter these calls automatically.. In just a few steps you can configure them and drastically reduce the number of annoyances that reach your terminal. Below I explain how to do it in each operating system.
The definitive anti-spam trick
This function is found default on Google phones, but the app that the service provides will always be able to be downloaded from the Google Play Store if you have a phone Android. The application is that of ‘Google phone’ and, once you have it installed, this is what you must do to access the anti-spam filter.
To activate it, access the ‘Phone’ app‘; then, in the upper right corner, tap ‘Configuration’, Once there access the ‘Caller ID and spam’. Finally, activate ‘Filter spam calls‘ and ‘View sender ID and spam’.
Once you do this you will be protected from any calls spam and you will be able to know that it is one of them, since if it occurs you will be will show a notice on the screen. In this way, the number of calls received will decrease drastically.
