Blacksburg Woman & Rare Disease Awareness | [Publication Name]

by Archynetys Health Desk

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Karen Brown, a lifelong Blacksburg resident, is taking powerful steps toward hope and healing.

This Saturday, you can join her in her mission to educate and raise awareness about Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disorder, or CMT.

C-M-T is a rare, inheritable neuromuscular disease that damages the peripheral nerves. And most people probably haven’t ever heard of it.

But this weekend, a walk is being held to raise awareness.

C-M-T patient and advocate Karen Brown joins us on Here @ Home to tell us a bit more about the disease and the efforts to find a cure.

Listen in to our conversation and join her for a great cause.

The walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 4th 10:30 am – noon at Blacksburg Municipal Park at 615 Patrick Henry Rd, Shelter #9.
