Big Baby Trial: Induction of Labour for LGA Fetuses – Rethinking Practice

We commend Jason Gardosi and colleagues’ trial,1 which suggests that inducing labour at 38+0 to 38+4 weeks of gestation can reduce the risk of shoulder dystocia compared with expectant management in patients without diabetes with a suspected fetus who is large for gestational age (LGA). However, we wish to highlight several considerations that affect interpretation and clinical application.
