Voborníková and Davidová start in 12th and 13th place, only a second apart. “Then it will be a good ride,” smiled the 2021 world champion Davidová. For both, Thursday’s sprint was clearly the best race of the beginning of the season, which so far has not been entirely according to their expectations.

Vobornik’s 47 seconds loss to the winner Hanna Öberg was helped by a clean shooting, when she worked especially on the prone event, and a livelier performance on the track after she finished treating a cold. Davidová showed the ninth fastest overall time in the shortest race and only had to go through one penalty circuit, which was her best balance of the season so far.

For Charvátová, on the other hand, the 31st place was the worst result of an otherwise great winter, when the running part did not suit her this time. On Saturday, she believes in a better choice of skis and further progress, in both fighters so far she has improved by eight places, even up to sixth place in Östersund.

It is also a start in Sunday’s first race with a mass start of the season, in which, in the current order, Charvátová would secure a start thanks to her 16th place in the World Cup, and Voborníková with Davidová thanks to her sprint results. The other two Czechs, Heda Mikolášová and Tereza Vinklárková, were far from advancing to the fighter.

Sweden’s Anna Magnusson, who holds the yellow number for the leading woman of the World Cup, will have a difficult task. But she starts in 38th place and only one point behind her is Lou Jeanmonnot. At the same time, the French woman will take to the track in second place, just three seconds behind Öberg.

From 2:45 p.m., the men’s fighter will race at the venue of the 2030 Winter Olympics.
