In Staré Hamry in the Frýdek-Místek region on Monday morning crashed a bus that transported students. Over 30 people traveled on the bus. After the accident in which the driver drove off the road, he crashed into an electric column and rolled over on his side, rescuers treated 34 people. These were 32 students and two adults. Moravian -Silesian emergency medical spokesman Lukáš Humpl said that three injuries were severe, two moderate, the rest light.
According to Gaje, a large part of the injured were transported to the hospital in Frýdek-Místek, others took another to the hospital in Nový Jičín and the University Hospital Ostrava.
“The Frýdek-Mistek criminalists will initiate criminal proceedings for suspicion of committing a general threat to negligence and continue to work on the case in cooperation with traffic police,” the police said. The breath test at the bus driver was negative. According to police spokeswoman Kateřina Kubzová, one of the possible causes of the accident could also be a technical defect in the bus, which will be examined by experts.
