BD & Henry Ford Health: Pharmacy Automation Partnership

by Archynetys Technology & Science Desk

BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) has announced a partnership with Henry Ford Health in the field of pharmacy automation in order to shape the health care of the future together. The focus is initially on a robot -based solution that enables patients to pick up selected recipes around the clock – seven days a week. As part of this cooperation unique in the USA, BD and Henry Ford Health will develop several applications of the BD ROWA® Vmax, a highly developed robot system for pharmacies.

The first implementation is intended to improve the processes to pick up recipes in the municipal hospital pharmacies of Henry Ford Health in Southeast and Central Michigan. This is part of the continuous commitment for innovation and patient -centered care. The BD ROWA® Vmax is already widespread in Europe and is known for its modular, powerful robotics storage system, which automates the storage and output of medication.

By integrating the BD ROWA® VMAX into the pharmacy processes of Henry Ford Health, patients benefit from improved access to their medication – be it when picking up in a municipal refilial or immediately after being released from the hospital. Henry Ford Health is committed to ensuring that patients can take their medication directly when discharge or after visiting the clinic.

The partnership offers several central advantages, including: the use of automation to improve the entire pharmacy experience; Automated, highly capacitive storage that provides recipes safely and precisely and at the same time increases the efficiency of the pharmacy staff so that it can concentrate on more value -added tasks in patient care; 24/7 access to recipes supports the continuity of the care and offers maximum convenience for patients; Real-time tracking of recipes and modular scalability; Storage of recipes, cooling medication, supply materials and over -the -counter products that are required for ongoing supply. BD works closely with Henry Ford Health to identify further applications for this automated pharmacy solution and other innovative technologies and thus further strengthen the joint commitment to innovation in healthcare, improved clinical results and optimized patient experience.
