We have known since October 2020 that an Assassin’s Creed live-action series is coming, but very little news has been released since that announcement. It was even claimed that the series was on hiatus, but we were officially told during the Netflix Tudum event in July that the series is still in the planning stages.
And today the first actor to star in the series has been announced. This concerns Toby Wallace (The Society, Bikeriders and Euphoria). It is not yet known exactly what role he will play, but it is said to be a co-lead role. So it is likely that he will play an assassin, although it could of course also be a templar role.
The showrunners of Assassin’s Creed are Roberto Patino (Sons of Anarchy, Westworld and DMZ) and David Wiener (The Killing, Homecoming and Halo). Both Netflix and Ubisoft are closely involved in the project.
Assassin’s Creed is about the battle between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order, where the Assassins fight for free will and the Templars want to have humanity under their power. In addition to these two factions, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is also packed with mysterious things and even a touch of science fiction.
It is not yet known when the Assassin’s Creed series will be available on Netflix. When we know more, you will be able to read it here on GameQuarter.be.
