A Fusion of Performance and Parisian Chic

Asics, the renowned sportswear brand, is teaming up with Parisian label A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et de Création) to launch a tennis collection that seamlessly blends high-performance athletic wear with sophisticated, everyday style. The collection, slated for release on April 5th, will be available at Asics’ official online store and select retail locations, including the Asics Flagship store in Harajuku.

Head-to-Toe Tennis apparel: A First for Asics

This collaboration marks a notable milestone for Asics, representing their first comprehensive “Head to Toe” collection within the tennis category. The line encompasses a wide range of apparel and footwear, designed to cater to both on-court performance and off-court leisure.

Drawing inspiration from the preppy aesthetic of the 1970s, the collection features classic silhouettes and a vibrant color palette of blue and white.This blend of vintage charm and modern functionality aims to appeal to a broad audience, from seasoned tennis players to fashion-conscious individuals.

On-court Performance Meets Parisian Flair

The “On-Court Collection” is engineered to provide athletes with the physical and mental edge they need to excel. Asics’ cutting-edge performance technology is interwoven with A.P.C.’s signature style, resulting in apparel that looks as good as it performs.

The designs incorporate elements of japanese artistry, including the “layer” layering technique, the “enso” circular motif symbolizing unity, and the “shibori” tie-dyeing technique. These details pay homage to Asics’ Japanese heritage and add a unique cultural dimension to the collection.

Footwear and Accessories

The collection also includes collaborative tennis shoes:

  • GEL-RESOLUTION X x A.P.C.: ¥22,000
  • SOLUTION SPEED FF 3 x A.P.C.: ¥19,800

Rounding out the collection are accessories such as caps (¥3,850), wristbands (¥1,650), and crew socks (¥2,420-¥2,640).

Off-Court Style: GEL-KAYANO 14 x A.P.C.

For off-court wear, A.P.C.’s creative director, Judith Touitou, has designed a special edition of the GEL-KAYANO 14 sneaker. Available in two colors, the GEL-KAYANO 14 x A.P.C. (¥35,200 each) offers a stylish and agreeable option for everyday wear.
