Arsenal Win: Late Corner Secures 2-1 Victory

Arsenal beat Chelsea who had to end the match with 10 players 2-1. The three goals that were born in this match all started from corner kicks.

Arsenal vs Chelsea in the London Derby match took place at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (1/3/2026). The Gunners opened William Lintasa’s lead in the 21st minute.

Pierro Hincapie’s own goal just before the break made it 1-1 at the break. The London Cannon regained the lead from Jurrien Timber‘s goal in the 66th minute.

All the goals scored in this match started from corner kicks. The Blues had to play with 10 players from the 70th minute after Pedro Neto received a second yellow card.

Arsenal won 2-1. The additional three points make Arsenal firmly at the top of the Premier League standings with 54 points

They are five points ahead of Manchester City in second place. Chelsea is in sixth place with 45 points.

The Course of the Match

The Gunners were in control at the start of the match. Chelsea goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, almost made a fatal mistake in the fifth minute.

Sanchez was not free to react to anticipate Arsenal’s corner kick. This is because there are a number of players piled up in a small box.

The Blues threatened from a corner. The ball hit Declan Rice’s arm and headed towards the goal. David Raya was still quick to parry the ball.

Chelsea had to play with 10 players. Pedro Neto received a second yellow card after making a tackle on Gabriel Martinelli in the 70th minute.

Sanchez made a brilliant save in the 82nd minute. He was able to ward off Eze’s shot which could have penetrated into the penalty box.

In the final minutes of the match, Chelsea managed to score a goal when Liam Delap grabbed the ball from Pedro’s shot which Raya parried. This goal was disallowed because Pedro was offside.

Arsenal won 2-1.
