The 23 candidates who have passed the first joint selection process for Local Police in Aragon, a pioneering call organized by the General Directorate of the Interior and Emergencies, have chosen their destination today in a public event held in the Pignatelli Building.
On the 25th, the new agents will begin their training at the Aragonese Academy of Local Police, dependent on the Government of Aragon, where they will receive more than 500 hours of theoretical-practical training in areas such as traffic and road safety, police intervention, personal defense, shooting and weapons practice, regulations, leadership and team management.
This new regional model has made it possible to unify the selective tests of different municipalities, facilitating access for applicants and ensuring greater objectivity, transparency and quality in the selection.
In the call, 384 people registered for 27 places distributed in 14 municipalities of the three Aragonese provinces: Barbastro, Fraga, Graus, Sabiñánigo and Sallent de Gállego; Alcañiz and Alcorisa; Calatayud, Caspe, Gallur, Mallén, Tarazona, Utebo and Villanueva de Gállego.
The tests began on September 6 at the Zaragoza School of Engineering, with theoretical and practical exercises that, as a novelty, were carried out entirely in test format, which has allowed a more agile and objective correction.
The applicants have had to pass different phases: theoretical, practical, physical fitness and psychotechnical tests, designed to select the best professionals for the Local Police of the municipalities of Aragon.
The physical tests had the advice and participation of the Official College of Physical Education Graduates of Aragon, while the psychotechnical tests and interviews were developed with the collaboration of a team of professional psychologists, guaranteeing a technical, impartial and rigorous process.
With this call, the regional Executive consolidates a pioneering model of cooperation between the Government of Aragon and the city councils, which will continue in the coming years with new joint editions aimed at reinforcing the professionalization and quality of the public security service in the Aragonese municipalities.
